The pandemic has created a new group of patients, COVID “long haulers,” who suffer from a variety of ongoing symptoms, including fatigue, brain fog, anxiety and depression, coughing, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, headaches, intermittent fever, joint and chest pain, and loss of taste and smell. Anybody who was infected is at risk of long COVID—regardless of the severity of their original illness—and all these symptoms are a result of the body’s inability to regain energetic balance, says Laurie R. Mallis, M.D., LAc, owner of SearchLight Medical, in Hopewell Junction.

I am very excited to announce the brand new location of SearchLight Medical now located at 2424 Route 52 just down the road from the previous location. This new office was built from scratch with my patients' energy healing in mind. Everything was created to provide the most relaxing, energy supporting environment so that healing is achieved on the deepest level possible.  In addition, the office is much larger and has an area where I will be able to give community lectures and offer classes on a variety of topics.

Hi everyone!  Sorry for the lack of entries as I have been busy researching, evaluating and finally bringing in a brand new service to SearchLight Medical. It is called AcuGraph and it is a digital meridian imaging system that analyzes and documents the energetic status of the acupuncture meridians. It is a totally non-invasive exam that uses a moistened probe to touch specific acupuncture points on your hands and feet.

Hi everyone!  Welcome to my new and improved website where I now have the ability to directly communicate with the masses. My goal will be to educate everyone who is interested in methods of alternative or complementary healing. First up is the fall seasonal allergies that are just starting. One very good natural way to help strengthen your immune system is to use your local honey on a regular basis. This will expose your immune system to small amounts of pollen that the bees have collected in your area and allows your body to build up a tolerance towards these particular pollens.

In our culture, we are inundated with promises of ways to improve our appearance and look younger. We buy and try hoping this latest anti-wrinkle product, injection or process will work. But what if there were a treatment that made you look better in a little over a month with no recovery time or risk? And what if it made you feel better as well?
